Here I go again

Thought I'd post a little update . . . .

Not a whole lot going on with me personally lately - mostly just working. Now that school has started, the medical students I was teaching in the lab aren't around much anymore. So I'm back to blasting my music at full volume, hehehe. Speaking of school starting, my nephews Jacob & Jonah started kindergarten! And their teacher remembers having me in class back in the day.(!)

In other news, my sports teams have not been doing well at all. The Astros are in last place; they fired the manager and the GM awhile back. I'm not optimistic about them rising again in the next few years either. Then we have the Rice Owls football team, who are off to a miserable 0-2 start, having lost to a lower-division team last week and to Baylor tonight. And now games against much better teams are coming up! [Sigh. Sure doesn't look like we'll be in another bowl game anytime soon.] On the bright side, the Women's World Cup (soccer) is starting over in China, and Team USA are one of the favorites again. So there's that to look forward to. Also, the USA Men's National Team plays Brazil in Chicago tomorrow at 3pm. Obviously we don't stand much of a chance to beat the South American champs, but it should be an entertaining game. I'm hoping to see East Texan Clint Dempsey (the pride of Nacogdoches) score for the USA. All the soccer info is at USsoccer.com.
