Christmas party

OK, here are the pics from the family Christmas party. "Back in the day" this was a Christmas Eve event, but now that we're into the fourth generation it's usually scheduled in the afternoon the weekend before. As I mentioned in the previous post, this year it was held in Fannett, a rural community west of Beaumont/Port Arthur. One of my cousins offered to host, relieving my both Mom and and one of her sisters, who are two of the very few with places big enough to host this monster. :P

Yep
My Dad and my cousin's husband appear to share a "King of the Hill" moment in the backyard. Yep, those trees were knocked down by Rita.

Hello

Country boys

Checkin' 'em out
Jacob & Jonah checking out our cousin's boys' Brahmans they raise for 4H. Look for them at the Houston Livestock Show (the cattle, not the twins! :P).

Frosty the Baby Jesus?!
Frosty the Baby Jesus?!

Moms
One of our traditions at this party is a live nativity scene . . . nowadays the Moms organize it and record it for posterity. I hadn't seen my cousin on the right since her wedding day sixteen years ago. We used to make up skits to act out in addition to the Christmas story . . . she reminded us that one year we ended up doing something out of Battlestar Gallactica, LOL!

Daddy's girl
My niece Emmy getting ready to roll the ball into the Holy Family while another cousin's teenagers stand behind.

In the spirit
I like this one.

Capturing the moment
Baz gets a shot of the kids singing carols.

Santa's helpers
Albert & I steadfastly believe that since we are childless, we are not obligated to start providing gifts for the whole clan!

Mom & Pop
Yes, my Dad is wearing a Scrooge McDuck BAH HUMBUG T-shirt that is starting to fade to pink. I don't even remember a time when he wore anything else to this annual gathering.
