Germany 2006 - it's on

The FIFA World Cup started today, with hosts Germany defeating Costa Rica 4-2 in the opening match. I was pulling for the Ticos of course. [My first World Cup experience was back in '94 waiting for hours to pick up a package at a Costa Rican post office while the employees watched a match on TV. And Costa Rica had not even qualified that year. Friends told me that the last time they had played in the Cup, the cervecería nacional had parked their trucks at the main square in San José and distributed free beer to all.]

I love the new layout. Sorry to hear that you've been laid off. What are your plans? Will you remain in Boston?

Cheers, weasel! Congrats to England for winning yesterday.

Glad you're back to blogging, Ben. :) And I have decided to make my move a year early - yep, I'm going back to Texas. Hopefully I can get a job in Galveston, but if not, Houston or Austin are options.
