Aerosmith in San Jose CR 1995
In 1995 I was living in Costa Rica and my Peruvian roommate Patricia got us tickets for the Aerosmith show at the Estadio Nacional in San José. Whoever sold her the tix told her they were in the "best" section which to her meant about halfway up the concrete bleachers. It was directly in front of the stage, but we would have preferred to be down on la cancha close to the stage instead of up in la preferencial. It's a freaking rock & roll show - we needed to be down with the masses. :P We'd been blasting our casette tape of Big Ones all summer back at the crib.
Anyway, most of the way through the concert, Patri got a little too enthusiastic as Steven Tyler started singing "Janie's gotta gun . . ." and fell head over heels down 4 filas of concrete! It was the most helpless feeling in the world to see that happen. Then they guys that helped her saw how she was dressed [like me, in jeans and denim jackets with bandanas], saw she was with me, assumed she was American also and started asking if she was OK in English. Which confused her even more than the big ol' knot rising rapidly on her head if that was possible. She was cleared to go home by the medics, but we missed the encores. Other than Patricia nearly killing herself, it was a great show.
