Patriots Day!

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. This year Easter Monday coincided with Patriots Day (commemorating Paul Revere's ride and the battles at Lexington and Concord, but also known as Marathon Monday) in Massachusetts. I invited the guys who helped me most at my old job to the Sox game. Marat couldn't make it [you need to work for a local company who recognizes local holidays, man!], so Evan rounded out our foursome up in section 37 of the centerfield bleachers. Gametime temperature was a chilly 48ยบ ["and it ain't gettin' any warmer!" said an usher as we found our seats], and the sun only came out at the very end. But it was a close game with lots of excitement. And a walk-off dinger!

Colors
Did everyone wear red socks back in colonial days? Or just Bostonians? :P

Beverage
The 11am start time was a little early for beer (for me at least, see photos below).

A two-out bottom-of-the-ninth walkoff homer by Mahk Loredder wins it! [That's Mark Loretta for those of y'all not familiar with the pronunciation.]

To the race route
After the game we watched a bit of the marathon.

Backyard games
Evan and I went on to a cookout in Brighton at one of his coworkers' house, where they had a "beer pong" table set up in the yard.

A final game of "flip the cup."

Marciano
This one is for you, Dad. :) Our host grew up in a house where Rocky Marciano used to live, and as a teenager he worked for the photographer who took these shots. In fact, he developed these prints. Pretty cool. On the left is a title fight against Joe Louis. I forget who the other boxer is in the other one - Sal something - but it was not a title bout.
