Family party pics

We had our annual extended family Christmas party last night. It seemed less hectic and annoying this year. "I think the wine helped," said my Mom. :P

I obviously need to learn how to use my parents' camera since these were the few pics that came out bright enough to see. (I thought I had it on automatic flash, but it hardly ever went off.)

Smith boys
Al and Jonah. (I think that's Jonah . . . unless it's Jacob.)

Holiday cheer
My aunt Kakie, Mom, Maw Maw, and cousin Bryan's mother-in-law share a laugh.

Fine Red Muscadine Wine
Uncle Bill's homemade wine was slightly less revolting than last year's.

The highlight of the decorations was a special Christmas tree made by my cousin Evelyn and her coworkers at the hospital. Some of the items on the tree and stand are downed trees, fences, utility poles, and other debris; construction workers, repairmen, and their toolboxes; a FEMA tarp and shingles; an empty gas pump; banged-up cars and a trailer; and a ruined freezer with green goo seeping out. The tree lights are running on "generator" power and the gifts are powdered food. :)
